Etisalat announced a significant achievement at Expo 2020 Dubai with the completion of the initial phase of constructing two cutting-edge Points of Presence (PoPs). These PoPs are pivotal as the primary interconnection points for providing services across the entire Expo 2020 site and serving as global communications gateways during the event.

These facilities are designed to ensure complete resilience, handle extensive global traffic in both directions, and offer advanced connectivity services to all attendees of the first World Expo in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.

The PoPs will support an expansive virtualized network equipped with state-of-the-art systems, including a central telecom hub that will subsequently cater to all needs of the "Dubai South" community post-Expo 2020. Additionally, these points will facilitate all telecom services—fixed, mobile, Wi-Fi, and IPTV—providing millions of visitors with a sophisticated connectivity experience at the expo. The construction of these PoPs is scheduled for completion by the end of 2018.
